Story Proposal- Marvin

Describe your main story line:

In the year 3045, a spaceship carrying an elite team of scientists is the first thing known to have touched down on EZQ-245. Their goal is to study the new planet and begin to try and colonize. Al Herman, an elite micro-biologist is heading up the team and plans to start construction on a small settlement shortly after arriving.

Upon arrival, Herman and his team  realize this won’t be as easy as initially intended, as the atmosphere and gravity make it much harder to work. Though struggling to make ends meet, they work together to try and strategize a new approach and seek a different sort of settlement.

Describe your main character as well as her/his desire, background, obstacles and character flaw(s) that work against achieving her/his desire

Al Herman is a previous micro-biologist who was recruited by NASA 3.0 with the hopes he would be able to study any micro-organisms they discover on this new planet. Though he’s beyond excitement about the opportunity to travel and explore a new realm, he was also heartbroken over having to leave his wife of 15 years behind. Though the technology exists where they can still be in contact day to day, it still isn’t the same and never quite will be.

Describe some possible scenes/actions that will challenge your protagonist

Gravitational challenges: High gravity upon initial landing. Hard to adjust, eventually discover that gravity actually rapidly changes across certain regions of the planet.

Food source: Though equipped with enough to start a small town, they must work fast to find a renewable way of supplying the necessities or finding an alternative.

Shelter: Weather conditions can be very hit or miss which makes the problem of finding shelter more of an issue

Describe the format/technology you will use to render the story

I plan on using twine to best represent this story as I feel it will be mainly comprised as text with a handful of pictures thrown in.
