Main Story Line: The general idea for my story is to right a children’s book that would appeal to kids that live city life. The story line starts with an explanation of character and setting. Lennie is a 9 year old living in the city, this is the first summer where she has been allowed to stay home when her parents go to work. She’s finding this time to be a little more boring than expected. So one day consumed with boredom she finds herself crossed the world in India, and she doesn’t ask questions. She jumps right into the story. She finds an elephant more so an elephant finds her, she names him Frank. Frank follows her, then she gets in trouble for stealing him, not realizing that elephants can belong to someone. Franks owner, another young girl becomes her friend and they go on a missing to the market. She sees the wonderful colors and learns about Holi, the Indian holiday. The girls then decorate they’re elephant friends in the tradition of Holi and show them off. Lennie is pulled from her adventure when her parents walk through the door. The day flew by wit her imagination, she’s excited to see where she goes tomorrow.

Lennie: A mischievous, unique little girl. She is daring and fun, but a bit shy in new places and in front of crowds. She was a little scared when she first arrived but learns to go with the flow. The of the elephant was intentional, she has to learn that just because he’s big doesn’t mean he’s scary. She over comes her stage fright when she shows Frank off beautifully painted. She also proves herself when she defends herself from stealing and makes a new friend.

Format: I intend to illustrate the book and design the layout. I want to to look and read like a children’s book but digitally. First I will make the book in InDesign and export as a PDF then I have found software online that turns a digital book into a online book, that replicates the page flip motion.
