I think I speak for most when I say falling in public is always a little embarrassing. Well I am a frequent faller. The day when I truly proved myself in the profession of falling was on my high school graduation day. Everyone’s worried about falling as they cross that stage, but it was me who made it a reality. I’ve never liked wearing heels, and I’m not particularly good at it. I made that very clear moments after receiving my diploma. I’m sure exactly how it happened but my foot rolled and my body smacked into the stage. I remember thinking “You’re fucking kidding me”. On the bright side I didn’t drop my diploma, I managed to keep that in my hand. So for a split second there I sat cherishing that mortifying moment crumpled on the stage that almost just tumbled off of. I now have to decide how I’m getting up from this… The answer was clear. I jumped up to my feet and threw my arms into a touchdown position. The crowd went wild. Crisis averted.
