So the roads this winter in Maine seemed particularly. I was driving back from Machias on RT 9 and I noticed my car was taking the roads a bit more freely than usual and I thought maybe it could be black ice but it was so warm out. Weird indeed. Well a couple signs stood out, cars of the road, cops and ambulances out and cars going very slowly. Well I was going fairly slow for most of the ride but at some point and I feel like a lot of people do this i zoned out while driving. Not paying attention just absorbed in the rhythm of the road. Well I came to realize that I was going 60 to 70 and while on a normal day this wouldn’t be an issue that day it was a big problem. I started losing control. The car starting swerving and before I knew it I was spinning down the road at a quick pace. Luckily I kept a fairly cool head and was able to get control of the car and brake it in the middle of the road. I was just lucky there wasn’t any on coming traffic or I would’ve been in real trouble. And then few miles down the road trying to pull of the road for an emergency vehicle and going not that fast I swerved, got caught in the ditch and had to get towed out by a police officer. What a day.
