A Winter of Itself
Step 1: Weakness and Need
The Weakness and need are revolved around Charlie and Jack Bombay. They are the pair of brothers who moved away from each other after college. One to pursue a ski dream in northern New England, and one to pursue a financial goal in commercial street in Boston. They realize that without each other they need to grow and not be depend.
Step 2: Desire
Both Brothers have their own distinct desires that they wish to fulfill. Charlie goes to the mountains and tranquility. Jack chooses a life with padding and stability.
Step 3: Opponent
When the brothers departed it was a very rocky and ruthless break up leaving them not communicating at all. At first it seems that they are against each other, but really the battle comes out to be a battle with themselves and not their opposing brother.
Step 4: Plan
The Plan is to make the brothers make up and become a close knit core again. They are twins and have always been best friends. But both of them are very ignorant, so the determining factor of who speaks first will be largely watched upon.
Step 5: Battle
They do collide heads for the final time resulting in either reuniting or defusing them to stay separated.
Step 6: Self- Revelation
Jack has a smug but caring personality and he doesn’t let things go easily. His stubbornness oversteps his heart to make things right with Charlie. Charlie feels that he could never make it right with Jack, He is whole heartedly done with his brother.
Step 7: New Equilibrium
After the brothers make things right is when the two maine characters decide to make things right. The brothers find each other and finally see the big picture. At the beginning of the story it will start with Charlie packing up his Subaru to head to see his father, as he is on death bed after a serious battle with cancer. The story will then rewind back to their graduation at the University of Maine 3 years ago, where both brothers and parents were pictured smiling and happy. From there It will hop back to a serious conversation the boys are having regarding their moms death. She died from a car accident driving Charlie to Sugarloaf to move into his new apt. Jack never forgave Charlie and blames him for the accident. They haven’t spoken in two years. Now their father is watching his life flash right in from of his eyes. The boys will have to come together and make some serious decisions.
