One of the main characters who is an inventor goes through a tragic event and seeks comforting. So he sets off into the woods to enjoy some nature and comes across a very strange glowing piece of metal. He is working on building a robot child and has the piece of metal tucked away somewhere when suddenly, he has an idea.
I like the bit of backstory here–a tragedy send hero in forest for comfort–that’s story material. you could SHOW this in a scene, a flashback maybe. Then give clues about what happens, or flash forward and she how the protagonist (robot, line, bacteria) tries to get the comfort. or healing it needs. this is a very good plot device. maybe the music can capture this too.
