Beauman_Story Proposal

Description

I’d like to develop a story following the Pixar formula.  The basic idea for my story is a person who has been a goodie two shoes and worked hard their whole life dies and is reincarnated as some animal (yet to be determined).  The main character is upset with their new body, believing they should have been reborn as a rich man,  and enlists the help of another, more free spirited, animal for help to reach the wise monk/shaman/Dalai Lama, who can communicate with nature and may be able to help.  In the end, the main character learns that his reincarnation was a gift, allowing him to be free for once, and he decides not to be reborn as a man when given the chance.

Scene

I only have the story idea so far, no actual scenes other than showing how bland and repetitive the character’s life is as a man.

Format

I’d like to draw the story out so right now it’s between graphic novel, text with a few drawn pictures, or a sort of animated storyboard.  The text would probably go better as a script since there are some scenes where the audience just sees stuff happening, no talking or thinking

Audience

I’d like to keep in the Pixar/Disney tradition of creating a story that entertains both kids and adults.  The looks will be more appealing to kids (giving the animals human characteristics).

Suggestions by group

Save the Cat  (screen writing book)

-Character has to early on do something that makes them relatable.

-have animation style change/improve overtime

-Background changing around character, suddenly view from above of him in a casket. (so death isn’t shown)

-Possibly have animal related to character.

-show animal before character is reborn as it.

-Raccoon?

-Squirrel?

-Chameleon?

-Rabbit?
