My name is Lennie.<\/span><\/p>\n But when i do something bad mom calls me Eleanor.<\/span><\/p>\n In the fall I’m going to be a 5th grader<\/span><\/p>\n for now i\u2019m stuck in summer<\/span><\/p>\n _________________________________________<\/span><\/p>\n I live in the city, it\u2019s okay I guess.<\/span><\/p>\n But summers here can get boring<\/span><\/p>\n There are museums and playgrounds and other fun places.<\/span><\/p>\n but there\u2019s not really anywhere to run<\/span><\/p>\n _________________________________________<\/span><\/p>\n I\u2019m old enough to be home alone<\/span><\/p>\n but when mom and dad go to work it doesn’t take long for me to get bored<\/span><\/p>\n most of the time its just me and my imagination <\/span><\/p>\n It\u2019s not their fault they cant stay and play with me <\/span><\/p>\n but i gotta get out of here<\/span><\/p>\n and the zoo is just around the corner\u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n _________________________________________<\/span><\/p>\n standing in front the big gates I wondered if this was a good idea<\/span><\/p>\n then i heard the sounds from the wild animals..<\/span><\/p>\n they sounded like the wild, like freedom<\/span><\/p>\n I\u2019m a fifth grader now<\/span><\/p>\n I can do this<\/span><\/p>\n Just be home by 4<\/span><\/p>\n _________________________________________<\/span><\/p>\n the elephant tamer welcomed me with a bow <\/span><\/p>\n he reached out his hand and guided me to riding basket on top <\/span><\/p>\n the view from the top showed the whole city<\/span><\/p>\n we made our way down the mountain side and into the markets<\/span><\/p>\n the houses were painted beautiful bright colors to match the silky clothes of the townspeople<\/span><\/p>\n india was taking my breath away<\/span><\/p>\n the elephant seems to know his way better than I so I let him lead me through the streets<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Here’s the first draft of the story: Note- it’s more of a rough outline of the beginning, I intend to add more detail My name is Lennie.
